What young republicans want.- I chose this topic because I saw the topic and I automatically knew what this article was going to bring to the table. I chose this topic because once I read what the article is debating, I figured that my argument might be helpful to this article.
Why are fewer young people identifying themselves as conservatives? Most people in their teens, 20s and 30s votes are increasingly rising to the Democratic party. And why is this? Debaters in this article talk mainly about religion and how religion and republican go hand in hand strongly. Which isn't true.
Carrie Sheffield says It’s one thing for a politician to invoke poetic Bible verses in a speech; quite another thing to claim God supports 'legitimate rape.' It's funny that she says this because not all republicans are on their high horses with God? How is she going to sit there and basically say all republicans think that pregnancy after rape was Gods plan? That was probably made up by some pyscho, not just a republican has probably thought that, who's to say a religious democrat doesn't have thoughts?
In every article they bash on republicans. They do, and some arguments are true like linked article New Voters, New values talking about illegal gay marriage. I completely disagree with that. But why should the government play a big role in today society? America is supposed to be free, so why should we have a government controlling us?
Example, welfare. Why should the government be paying for people who don't feel like getting off their lazy ass and finding a job? They shouldn't. However, I do believe that their should be rules to welfare. Not completely disband it.
So about this argument, The reasons that the debaters in this article are completely accurate. However, they completely left out most of the importance of the republican party.
